About Me

I am a PhD candidate in the Evolution and Ecology of Disease Systems Lab at the University of Pennsylvania in the Department of Biology working under Dr. Dustin Brisson.

I use molecular, computational, and experimental techniques to investigate host-pathogen interactions. I am broadly interested in studying the population genetic and ecological factors that influence the host range, geographic distribution, and evolution of pathogens.

I am currently studying the evolution of tick-borne bacteria in the Lyme Borreliosis group.  Specifically, I am investigating whether the Lyme pathogen, Borrelia burgdorferi s.s. is adapted to local hosts and vectors using population genetics and proteomics.
